# Prepare a release

> Prepare core-app changes for release, check contracts and tests, and consult the private operational procedures before changing deployed environments.

## Release checks

1. Run the [relevant tests](https://docs.models.dunsky.com/en/development/testing.md).
2. Regenerate frontend types if the API contract changed.
3. Check whether the change needs a data or schema migration.
4. Review the checked-in workflows and internal instructions for the target environment.

## Migrations

The backend uses Alembic. Review the API package’s migration files and history before preparing a release. Do not automatically transfer local-development shortcuts into a shared environment.

## Operational procedures

Deployment identities, infrastructure details, and connection procedures remain in the private repositories. This page provides a preparation checklist rather than a production operations runbook.
