# SAM

> Dunsky documentation for SAM: find model guidance, source references, and the right tools for your work.

SAM estimates solar adoption for a defined region. Use SAM for regional solar adoption analysis. Its current package documentation is maintained under `packages/sam`. This guide links directly to that package rather than the archived standalone solar-adoption repository.

## Use the model

For local execution, start with the [package README](https://github.com/dunsky-consulting/packages/blob/trunk/sam/README.md). It documents the environment and installation steps; repository access is required.

After installing and configuring the package, its documented entry point is:

```bash theme={null}
sam
```

## Model notes

The README documents local execution using Python 3.14 and the `sam` command. SAM’s presence in this catalogue does not establish that it is available as a standalone choice in the current platform runner.

## Implementation reference

[SAM source and README](https://github.com/dunsky-consulting/packages/blob/trunk/sam/README.md). Check the source revision applicable to your model version.
